Thomastik Rosin

Our bow resin (rosin) is manufactured in different compositions and qualities to suit the artist and to fulfil the various conditions of the climate. We offer EUPHON (spruce resin) which we are producing for Violin and Viola, and also artist‘s- and special rosins made of larch resin. This rosin will be manufactured for all instruments in 3 degrees of hardness. Only tropical rosin is produced in one hardness for hotter climates. Bow resin is made for the proper connection between hairs of the bow and string surface, and this firm grip is increased by special mixtures and technical treatments; this is the difference between special- and artist‘s rosins.

Thomastik Tailpieces

By combining the traditional tailpiece with four built-in fine tuners, Otto Infeld created a tuning system which has remained unsurpassed to the present day as the solution for the problem of fine tuning. The elegant main body of the tailpiece is produced in modern pressure diecasting. The fine-tuning screws can be supplied in black or gold. Our tail clinch wires are produced in steel for all instruments, while violinists have the extra choice of a tail clinch wire in nylon for ease of fitting. Our fine tuners are optimized in size and weight for Thomastik- Infeld strings. The Infeld tailpiece allows the whole length of the string to vibrate freely, without the need for an additional ridge between tuner and bridge which could weaken the ball end and hamper resonance.
